#2: Queen in Black #2
‘Queen in Black’ #2 reminds us of the stakes as Dylan takes focus
Queen in Black #2 successfully raises the stakes without losing sight of its characters. Al Ewing balances massive superhero warfare with key moments for Dylan and Hela, making each feel essential to the larger conflict. The event continues to reward readers following the broader line while still delivering exciting developments in its core series, even if some tie-in reminders slow the momentum slightly. Coello and Medina make the escalating war feel enormous, ensuring every battlefield is packed with urgency and spectacle. By the final page, Hela has firmly established herself as a villain worthy of the spotlight, and the road ahead looks increasingly dire for Earth’s defenders.
