Toy & Action Figure Museum in Pauls Valley closing at the end of August
A museum in Pauls Valley that’s filled with pieces and memories from many people’s childhoods will close at the end of the month.
After more than 20 years, the Toy & Action Figure Museum will close on Aug. 30. Since opening in October 2005, the museum has seen visitors from every state in the U.S. and over 40 countries around the world.
Museum officials said in a news release that the attraction not far from Interstate 35 is closing due to city tourism budget changes.
The museum has featured numerous popular toys and action figures that have been childhood favorites to many – including G.I. Joes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Barbies, LEGO, Star Wars, Batman, Superman, and more.
“I want to thank all of the visitors from all over the world that have come through the museum over the last twenty years, many of whom have become very close and dear friends,” Kevin Stark, the curator and executive director of the Toy & Action Figure Museum, said in a news release. “And, though it saddens myself and the board greatly to close the museum, I feel saddest for the thousands of people that have come here over the years to relive the happiest time of their lives, their childhood. And, of course, I’m sorry for the people that will now not get the chance to discover the Toy & Action Figure Museum.”
People who want to visit the Toy & Action Figure Museum before it closes can find it at 111 S. Chickasaw St. in Pauls Valley.
