If a new report is to be believed, we may now know the actor behind Ganondorf in the upcoming live-action movie for The Legend of Zelda.
The film isn’t too far away, but we still know relatively little about it. Nintendo previously announced the roles for Link and Zelda, but that’s pretty much it. There’s still a key character to learn about as Ganondorf should play an integral role as well.
Kyle Buchanan, who has an accurate track record with movie reporting, now claims that Australian actor Uli Latukefu is playing Ganondorf in the Zelda film. Latukefu previously played young adult Dwayne Johnson in Young Rock. He was also Byamba in the American Netflix series Marco Polo.
As of now the casting role has not yet been officially confirmed. And while Buchanan has accurately reported on some movie news previously, we’d caution taking this with a grain of salt for now.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth was previously announced for the role of Link. Bo Bragason will be playing Princess Zelda in the movie.
Earlier this year, fans were trying to guess the identity of mysterious character from the Zelda movie. Some artwork also previously surfaced a few months ago.
Those were the main updates for the project in 2026. Outside of that, the film moved up its release date to April 30, 2027.
On the gaming front, Zelda: Ocarina of Time is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 remake this year. Nintendo has teased that the title features “stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay”.
