Amy Bradley Is Missing producer to use Google-owned service to develop factual series

LA-based Ample Entertainment has unveiled a YouTube channel that will be used to develop and launch original IP.

Ample Originals will host documentaries, series, creator collaborations and companion content, providing viewers with access to the company’s slate and exclusive previews.

Ample said the “dedicated destination” would allow the company to experiment with new storytelling formats and build direct relationships with audiences, alongside its work for leading broadcasters and streamers.

The move comes ahead of the launch of the Ample Investigates strand on 7 August and the 10 August roll-out of companion series Somebody Knows Something.

Ample Investigates revisits “zeitgeisty crime stories” and stories from its previous docs, providing new revelations and unexpected characters to viewers.

Shows include The Isabella Gardner Museum Heist, which sees filmmakers meeting the nephew of notorious mob boss Harry Winter, and The Murder of Seth Rich, which explores the 2016 murder of Democratic National Committee staffer.

Somebody Knows Something, meanwhile, is a companion YouTube series extending the recently announced ABC News Studios TV series of the same name, which is produced by Ample.

The YouTube series is hosted by true crime influencer and kidnapping survivor Kara Robinson Chamberlain), who also leads the ABC show, and recaps cases in the digital offshoot.

The TV series also premieres 10 August on Freeform and streams the following day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the US.

Ari Mark, chief exec at Ample, said: “I’ve always wanted to build a platform that lets us bring original content directly to consumers that is curated, thoughtful, and high quality.

“This channel gives us another way to expand the reach of our storytelling and create a home for original ideas at every stage of development.

“They allow us to experiment, collaborate with creators and build lasting communities around our work, all while complementing the premium programming we continue to produce for our broadcast and streaming partners. The audience is smart and they want to consume content that’s top shelf. We can offer that.”

The shift is part of Ample’s strategy to expand its multiplatform efforts, in addition to producing shows for streamers such as Netflix docuseries Amy Bradley Is Missing, The Invisible Pilot for HBO, and Peacock’s Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy.

    By JamesJuly 6, 20260

Acting for a living can take you down some peculiar avenues. Consider Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg. In the 2010s, they lent their voices to the “Rio” movies as an oil and water pair of blue Spix’s macaws who fall in love. But a decade before becoming animated amorous at-lived dramedy series “Get Real.”
