The popular light novel Exiled Merchant Saves The World With The Power of Money is officially receiving a television anime adaptation. Its manga adaptation also began serialization on the Comic PASH! neo website at midnight on July 31.

Story
Torao is a merchant who belongs to the S rank adventurer party Blue Ring. However, the other members discover that while he has been forcing them to economize, he has also been financially supporting Garnet, a junior adventurer party consisting of three women.

“You are fired!”
With those words, Torao is expelled from the party.
Before leaving, Torao warns his former companions that it is still too early to attempt to defeat the Demon Lord. The members of Blue Ring ignore his warning and join a Demon Lord subjugation operation led by a higher ranked party, only to be completely wiped out.

Torao then joins Garnet and sets out to defeat the Demon Lord. However, his first assignment is to recover equipment from the bodies of his former party members.
Thus begins an inhumane campaign to defeat the Demon Lord, led by a merchant who uses the power of money to get his way.

Announcing an anime adaptation at the same time as the manga serialization begins may be quite a rare occurrence.
In fact, the manga adaptation itself had been planned since the novel was released. However, while we were having difficulty finding a manga artist, work on the anime began first, resulting in a somewhat unusual situation.
Now that Higashiyama has been selected as the artist for the manga adaptation, this story is embarking on its second beginning. Higashiyama creates distinctive manga with a unique charm, so I am looking forward to seeing how Torao and his companions’ journey will be depicted.

Even so, I never imagined that this story would receive an anime adaptation. When my editor first contacted me and said, “We have received an inquiry about an anime adaptation,” I did not take it seriously at all. I thought, “Oh, this must be one of those adaptation proposals that eventually disappears.”
Things progressed smoothly, and when it was decided that the story really would become an anime, I think I was the most surprised of all.
That said, this novel tells a complete story in a single volume and reaches a clean conclusion. I am quietly confident that it may be well suited to a one cour anime series.
I have written various novels, but the ending of this one is my favorite. It is a conventional ending, though.
So I sincerely hope you will stay with both the manga and the anime until the very end. The protagonist is a little unusual, but if you watch until the end, everything should make sense.
Incidentally, the title used when the story was published online was: The Merchant Who Was Expelled From His Party After Being Told, “You Are Dead Weight!” Saves the World With the Power of Money. It Is Too Late Even If They Say, “We Always Thought You Were One of Us.”
If you keep that somewhere in the back of your mind as you follow the story to its conclusion, you may experience it in a slightly different way.
