Chris Evans, Elijah Wood, and Mel Gibson are among the celebrities expected to appear at Fan Expo Boston 2026, the annual pop culture celebration held in the Boston area.
According to a Boston.com report, Fan Expo Boston 2026 is poised as one of New England’s premier fan conventions. It regularly attracts attendees for multiple days of celebrity appearances and activities alongside regional heavyweight conventions like PAX East and Anime Boston.
This year’s event will be held at the Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, formerly the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, from Aug. 7 through Aug. 9.
Attendees can expect a full slate of experiences, from photo ops and autograph sessions to Q&A panels, merchandising booths, interactive games, cosplay contests, and diverse programming across pop culture, film, TV, anime, comics, and gaming.
Evans is arguably the headline guest in this year’s lineup. The Sudbury native, best known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will hold autograph and photo opportunities during sessions on Saturday, Aug. 8, and Sunday, Aug. 9. He will participate in a panel on Sunday at 2:15 p.m. about his experiences playing Captain America.
According to Boston.com, the weekend program includes standout moments such as a Saturday night Lords of the Rings 25th‑anniversary panel of cast members. The actors who played the Hobbits Frodo (Elijah Wood), Sam (Sean Astin), Merry (Dominic Monaghan), and Pippin (Billy Boyd) will host a Saturday evening panel at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday morning “second breakfast” at 8 a.m.
A broader slate of star power includes the following:

- William Shatner, Jonathan Frakes, and Brent Spiner (Star Trek)

According to Boston.com, the Fan Expo Boston doors open on Friday, Aug. 7, from 4-9 p.m. The expo continues on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Single-day general admission tickets start at $45, and three-day general admission ticketss begin at $105. Discounts for families and children are available. Autograph sessions and VIP experiences incur higher ticket costs.
