    Naruto Card Game

    Bandai Card Games

Bandai Card Games has officially unveiled full gameplay details for the “Naruto Card Game,” giving fans their first real look at the new trading card game.

This is the second time that the “Naruto” series is getting its trading card game, and it follows other Japanese manga and <a href="https://comicvibe.com/the-star-entertainment-group-ltd-asxsgr-portfolio-suitability-evaluation-guide/” title=”The Star Entertainment Group Ltd (ASX:SGR): Portfolio Suitability Evaluation Guide”>entertainment franchises whose card games launched earlier.

‘Naruto Card Game’ Officially Launches Today

The reveal dropped on July 29 ahead of the game’s world debut at Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis, and it covers card designs, core mechanics, and a global event roadmap leading up to the Summer 2027 worldwide launch.

The “Naruto Card Game” was first announced back in June 2026 alongside a teaser trailer and the key visual, with Bandai Card Games positioning it as a strategy-focused competitive TCG rather than a casual collectible experience.

The game covers all three major entries in the franchise, drawing characters and stories from “Naruto,” “Naruto: Shippuden,” and “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations,” making it the most comprehensive card game the series has ever had.

“The ‘NARUTO CARD GAME!’ The world of ‘Naruto’ continues to grow. I hope these cards can make their way into all of your hands and hearts,” “Naruto” creator Masashi Kishimoto said in a statement shared on the official website of the card game.

This is actually the first new TCG based on the franchise since the original Naruto Collectible Card Game ran from 2006 to 2013. That earlier game had a dedicated following during the height of the anime’s popularity, but it has been over a decade since fans had a proper card game to play.

The 2027 launch is positioned to fill that gap at a time when trading card games are seeing some of their highest demand in years, with the “Pokemon TCG,” “Magic: The Gathering,” and the “One Piece Card Game” all thriving simultaneously.

‘Naruto Card Game’ Card Types Unveiled

The game is built around four distinct card types, each serving a specific role in how a match plays out:

    • Leader Cards form the foundation of every deck, determining which colors and character archetypes a player can build around.
    • Character Cards make up the bulk of each deck and represent the ninja and supporting cast players deploy during battles.
    • Chakra Cards function as the game’s resource system, fueling actions and special abilities throughout a match.
    • Summon Cards round out the deck structure, letting players call in powerful creatures or techniques at key moments.

In NARUTO CARD GAME, there are 5 types of cards that you’ll take to battle with you.

Each player builds a deck of 51 cards plus 5 Chakra Cards and 1 Summon Card. The win condition is straightforward: assemble characters that match the Leader’s color and reduce the opponent’s Leader’s Life points to zero.

Characters revealed in early card art include Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha from the original series, along with their “Shippuden” versions, and additional cards for Sakura Haruno, Itachi Uchiha, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Orochimaru, and Boruto Uzumaki.

What to Expect From the New Card Game?

Players will get their first hands-on experience with the Naruto Card Game at Gen Con 2026, running from July 30 through August 2 in Indianapolis. Free tutorial sessions will be available at the Bandai Card Games booth, led by instructors using demo decks to walk newcomers through the basics.

Attendees who complete a tutorial session will receive a gift set that includes a Gen Con 2026 exclusive promotional Chakra Card, a special backpack, a sticker, and a purchase ticket for an official playmat set to ship in 2027.

The full worldwide launch is scheduled to take place sometime in the summer of 2027.
