Ransom Canyon (Season 2)
If you’ve been missing your fix of sweeping Texas romance and rugged family drama, it’s time to saddle up and head back to the Hill Country! Picking up six months after the emotional events of the first season, Ransom Canyon returns with rancher Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) fighting tooth and nail to reclaim his legacy at the Double K Ranch. Meanwhile, musician Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly) finds herself torn between her complicated small-town roots and the glittering allure of New York City. Blending the cozy romance of Virgin River with the intense ranching stakes of Yellowstone, this is the perfect, soapy summer binge-watch. Netflix isn’t doing much promotion for this series at all, so if you want to see a season 3, you’ll need to take things into your own hands.
Wicked: For Good (2025)
Defy gravity all over again! Jon M. Chu’s epic musical fantasy sequel makes its highly anticipated (partial) SVOD debut on Netflix this week following its initial stint on Peacock. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return to their iconic roles as Elphaba and Glinda. Now demonized across the land as the Wicked Witch of the West, an exiled Elphaba must ultimately reunite with her beloved former friend to confront their intertwined pasts and change the future of Oz forever. If you missed this cinematic spectacle in theaters, now is your chance to belt out the soundtrack from your living room, but sadly, you’ll need to look elsewhere for the first movie.
Violent Night (2022)
Who says you can’t have a little Christmas cheer in the middle of summer? This bloody, action-packed holiday comedy stars David Harbour (Stranger Things) as a cynical, exhausted Santa Claus who just wants to finish his deliveries. But when he drops down the chimney of a sprawling estate on Christmas Eve and finds the wealthy family being held hostage by heavily armed mercenaries, Saint Nick has to dust off his brutal combat skills to save the day. It’s hilarious, surprisingly heartwarming, and packed with wildly inventive action sequences.
72 Hours (2026)
If you need a big laugh this weekend, look no further than this brand-new original comedy film directed by Tim Story. Kevin Hart stars as a flailing forty-something executive who accidentally gets added to the wrong group text. Hoping to inject some life into his career and reclaim his youth, he inadvertently joins a group of chaotic twenty-somethings (led by SNL breakout Marcello Hernández) on a wild, three-day bachelor party. Grab some popcorn, because things are guaranteed to go horribly, hilariously wrong.
