IMAX (NYSE:IMAX) and Goer Dynamics have announced a strategic partnership to develop an IMAX-branded in-vehicle entertainment system, with commercial production scheduled to begin before the end of 2026
New platform targets premium automotive market
The jointly developed system will combine Goer Dynamics’ automotive technology with IMAX’s entertainment expertise to deliver an immersive viewing experience inside vehicles
According to the companies, the platform will feature a 4K HDR fold-down display alongside a multi-dimensional acoustic system designed to provide cinema-quality audio and visual performance
The display will also incorporate ambient light adaptation technology to help maintain picture quality under varying driving conditions
Flexible design for multiple vehicle models
The entertainment system will be offered in modular configurations, allowing automotive manufacturers to tailor speaker layouts and equipment packages across different vehicle models and trim levels
This flexible approach is intended to simplify integration into a wide range of premium vehicles
Companies target China’s premium EV market
Goer Dynamics and IMAX plan to jointly market the new platform to premium automotive manufacturers in China
The partnership was formally announced during a signing ceremony in Qingdao

Focus on next-generation mobility
