In many ways, Roborock’s large-wheel sweeping/mop hybrid robot is designed to handle pet hair. The mid-range vacuum cleaner has dual rubber brushes and 5,500Pa suction power, which is good at picking up pet hair and dirt from carpets. It also comes with a huge 770ml dustbin (so you don’t have to empty it every day) and a removable mop pad to clean up any dirt the Q5 Pro didn’t pick up during the initial cleaning. It also offers the same software features as the Q Revo and S8 MaxV Ultra, which means you can still set digital no-go zones and take advantage of features like lidar mapping and voice control via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
That being said, the Q5 Pro is Roborock’s entry-level model, so there are trade-offs. It doesn’t have a self-emptying base (unless you opt for the more expensive Plus model), and it won’t actually scrub your floors like a high-end robot vacuum. It also lacks AI-driven obstacle avoidance, but luckily for anyone with kids or a cluttered home, it still does a good job of dodging shoes and larger objects.
