A woman’s elaborate Rapunzel costume turned her home into a scene straight out of a Disney movie on Halloween, delighting neighborhood children with a glowing blonde braid and a makeshift tower.
Rather than simply dressing as the fairytale princess, she recreated Rapunzel’s signature appearance from Tangled, complete with a basket attached to her hair that she used to deliver candy to trick-or-treaters below.
Footage of the creative display quickly went viral, receiving more than 8.5 million views on Instagram and 1.9 million on TikTok in just a day.
The impressive Halloween display was created by Micarah Tewers, a YouTuber, cosplayer, seamstress, comedian and social media content creator known for making elaborate costumes and dresses.
Over approximately nine years on YouTube, Tewers has built an audience of 2.7 million subscribers through videos showcasing her sewing projects, creative process and humorous personality. Her unconventional costume designs and fashion-related content have attracted widespread attention on numerous occasions.
For Halloween 2026, Tewers drew inspiration from Disney’s Tangled, adapting the animated film’s iconic tower scene into an interactive experience for children visiting her home.
She constructed a fake tower against one of her house’s windows, allowing her to appear as though she were looking down from Rapunzel’s secluded home. The costume’s illuminated braid extended toward the ground, where a small basket allowed her to distribute treats without leaving her elevated position.
The imaginative setup attracted the attention of local trick-or-treaters, turning her costume into a memorable neighborhood attraction.
“When you never got to Trick-or-Treat as a child, so you overcompensate in adulthood…” Tewers writes on her video as it begins. It starts by showing her poking out of a window dressed as Rapunzel, with a huge, fake braid with fake leaves and flowers on it attached to her head and falling out of the windowsill.
The window itself looks like it has also been made to look like the one on Rapunzel’s tower, with a fake wooden frame and fake ivy plants around it. Tewers also has fake flowers in her real hair.
The video zooms out as Tewers waves, and the full extent of her costume and her home’s matching decorations are revealed. Not only has she made the window look like Rapunzel’s tower, but she has made a fake tower and put it over part of the actual house.
The top of the tower surrounds the window, with white paint, painted wooden structures, and painted purple tiles at the top. Below Tewers is the rest of the fake tower, with more fake ivy and a section of stones painted on it. Tewers’s fake braid extends alongside it perfectly.
But those are not all of the costume’s details. The video cuts to another angle, which shows children admiring Tewers’s costume and decor, who chant, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!”
Tewers has gathered some of her braid, which has a basket tied to the bottom. She does something that makes part of the braid light up, and then begins unraveling it back down. The next clip shows Tewers waving at children, her braid lit up.
The video then cuts to Tewers standing beside the fake tower on the front door, showing that she is also wearing a purple dress, imitating Rapunzel’s dress from Disney’s Tangled. She has an actual long braid on, but the fake braid hangs from the window, almost reaching the ground.
Then, Tewers appears in front of the tower, waving at the camera alongside other people dressed as Disney characters.
The video proceeds to show a few more clips of Tewers letting her braid down, often accompanied by a man dressed as Flynn Rider and a woman dressed as Mother Gothel at the bottom of the tower. Tewers then shows her own perspective of the “letting the braid down” moment.
“We watch you on YouTube!” some children yell as Tewers waves from her tower, before the video shows more Halloween footage.
“You might be able to make it glow,” Tewers tells someone from her tower, before the video shows Mother Gothel doing something to make the hair light up as a child watches on in amazement. The video then shows clips of this happening with different children, all of whom react delighted at the glowing hair.
“I love you, Rapunzel!” a child screams. “Thank you, Rapunzel!” says another, as the video shows clips of more children visiting and admiring the costume, only now at night.
Then, Tewers, the man, and the other woman all wave. “Happy Halloween!” Tewers says, as the light in her braid turns off.
In the comments, people praised Tewers’s elaborate costume. Others expressed that the kids’ reactions to the costume made them emotional, and that Tewers’s costume would probably become a fond memory for those kids later on.

In the days leading up to Halloween, Tewers also made three videos showing how she made her elaborate costume, which all went viral on Instagram.
