BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —An Elk Grove man accused of kidnapping a 10-year-old girl from Taft after meeting her through the online game Roblox was held to answer on three charges
Matthew Macatuno Naval faces charges of kidnapping a child under 14 to commit lewd or lascivious acts and two counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor under 14. Naval is due back in court on August 4 for arraignment.Naval initially faced seven charges. The case dates back to April 13, 2025, at about 10 a.m., when deputies were dispatched to Cypress Street in Taft regarding a missing 10-year-old girl. Family members reported she was last seen the night before, April 12, 2025, at home
During the investigation, deputies received information from friends that indicated the possibility that the girl was kidnapped, and a detective callout was initiated. The sheriff’s office said detectives later found the girl had been talking with Naval
Naval was arrested on April 13, 2025, in Elk Grove. He is being held on $1.35 million bail, records show
