Socialite and businesswoman Paris Hilton’s Halloween costume is totally #Sliving.
Hilton recreated the pop princess Britney Spears’ legendary look from her 2001 performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. And the reality star, who revealed the costume on Oct. 23, simply nailed the ensemble — down to the live yellow snake.

“I always had the utmost respect for Brittany, but the fact that she performed at the VMAs with one of these around her neck is the most legendary thing that I’ve ever heard of my life,” Hilton said in a behind-the-scenes video shared on Instagram. “Especially after experiencing it just in the hallway of my house, I can’t imagine being on stage performing in front of thousands of people with this around my shoulders. That is badass. I love you, Brit.”
To recreate the look, Hilton rocked a green top, disco shorts that featured a blue and green ombré butterfly print and a bedazzled belt with shimmering, rhinestone tassels. She also posed with a snake named Tango around her neck, just as the daring pop star did during that iconic 2001 performance of “I’m a Slave 4 U.” In the behind-the-scenes video, Tango’s handler shared that the snake weighs roughly 30-40 lbs.
Now, that’s commitment.

Spears’ VMAs performance at New York City’s Metropolitan Opera house has become the stuff of legend in the two decades that have passed since she famously donned a yellow snake around her neck.
During the act, Spears, then 19, begins the routine inside a cage with a live tiger. Wearing a costume created by designers Kurt Swanson and Bart Mueller, Spears, giving some real jungle vibes, performs the striking act before ending it with Banana, the python.
Since, the performance has been praised as one of the most memorable moments in the VMAs’ over 40-year history. And plenty of people have referenced Spears’ daring act. In 2001, actor Elle Fanning also recreated the look for Halloween.
Actor Elle Fanning recreated the look as well for Halloween in 2021. She pulled it off flawlessly — even if the snake was fake.
