While the film has had a decent opening day, it pales in comparison to Ayushmann Khurrana’s career opening-day hit Thamma.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s latest comedy-drama Udta Teer opened to a moderate response at the box office, although it received mixed reviews upon its release on October 23. As per the latest report, Udta Teer collected Rs 11.35 crore net in India in two days.
As per a report by a trade tracking website, Udta Teer has earned Rs 11.35 crore net in India, and within two days of its release, it collected Rs 16.28 crore worldwide.
The film recorded an occupancy of 13% across 6,265 shows.
On Saturday, October 24, the film earned Rs 7.25 crore net across 6,164 shows, with occupancy increasing to 21%. The second-day collection marked a rise of around 77% compared with its opening-day earnings.
The film also recorded Rs 1.50 crore in overseas collections on Day 2, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 2.75 crore. Its worldwide gross collection consequently reached Rs 16.28 crore in the first two days.
While the film has had a decent opening day, it pales in comparison to Ayushmann Khurrana’s career opening-day hit Thamma. It managed to earn a net amount of Rs 24 crore in India on its opening day. That means Udta Teer has earned around 83% less than 2025 hit.
However, with Sunday around the corner, we will see how well the film does at the box office.
The film follows a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and starts believing that he is an Indian counter-terrorism officer. The resulting confusion over his identity sets off a series of comic complications.
Directed by Aakash Kaushik, Udta Teer is backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment.
The spy comedy features Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles, alongside Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe.
