After a long day of royal duties, Prince William likes to kick back in front of the tube.
The Prince of Wales dished on his favorite movies and TV shows during a surprise appearance on “The Graham Norton Show” Thursday, Oct. 22. The episode, which also featured guests Cate Blanchett, Hannah Waddingham and Robert Irwin, is set to air Friday.
When it comes to the cinema, William told host Graham Norton that he loves “getting immersed in deep-thinking films,” adding, “I like action films too, but I like something a bit different.”
The prince then gushed that he’s a “big fan” of Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan, known for provocative thrillers such as “Inception,””Oppenheimer,””The Odyssey” and “The Dark Knight” franchise.
“His films are fantastic,” William, 44, said of Nolan “‘The Dark Knight’ series is psychologically dark and deep, and I absolutely love that. He takes concepts that are completely out there and makes them incredibly entertaining.”
Despite his appreciation for the intellectual, Prince William isn’t opposed to some feel-good entertainment.
The Prince of Wales, who shares children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis with wife Princess Kate, said he and the kids have made a tradition of watching the British version of “The Traitors,” a reality competition series that pits a group of contestants against each other in a cutthroat game of social deduction.
“I love it, the family loves it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It’s really good telly,” William said.
William shared that he had a fan freakout when he ran into British actor and “Celebrity Traitors” contestant Ross Kemp shortly following the show’s Season 2 premiere earlier this month.
“I couldn’t help but try – in the most appropriate way – to touch him to see what reaction I got from him,” William said. “Turns out he was really jumpy!”
