Marvel Studios recently announced its new TV series, Zodiac. With the show slated to arrive in 2028, a new rumor has revealed which MCU movies and shows fans should watch before the series premieres.
According to reports from scooper Daniel Richtman, fans need not watch any shows ahead of Zodiac’s release. As the upcoming project will be a standalone show, most of the leads will be original.
The post read, “Zodiac will be a standalone show, so you won’t have to watch it before or after any other show or film, and vice versa. A lot of the leads will be original, but there will be something.”
More updates have confirmed that the filming for the show will commence in London next year. The executive producers for the show are Kevin Feige, Trinh Tran, and Brad Winderbaum.
What else do we know about the MCU Zodiac show?
The upcoming live-action spy thriller series was announced at New York Comic Con on October 8, 2026. The show’s narrative reportedly draws inspiration from Marvel Comics storylines involving secret spy organizations, including the Great Wheel from Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Warriors run. Additionally, fans have speculated that the series could have a connection to S.H.I.E.L.D.
The writers for the MCU series have also been announced. Amit Cohen and Ron Leshem, best known for creating the original Israeli series Euphoria and Bad Boy, are set to write the show.
Executive producer Winderbaum reflected on the show and said, “It’s a spy thriller. And for anyone who knows the comics, if you look closely at this title design, you’ll see a few clues about where we’re going.” Winderbaum further shared at the 2026 New York Comic Con that the casting for Zodiac would begin soon.
