Killer Kross’ love for film has been something fans have been exposed to through his promos and social media posts, as well as his short film. However, while he’s since become an independent filmmaker and actor, Kross claims there was an opportunity to open this door from within WWE.
“A couple of years ago, we had this in-house meeting at WWE where, you know, the bosses were there and they were talking about how the merger with TKO was going to provide some sort of transitionary connective tissue into getting into different types of lanes of entertainment,” he claimed during an interview on “The Wrestling Classic.”
Kross further detailed the meeting, recalling that it was akin to a university lecture, and suggesting that WWE took the topic seriously. He then said that he followed up with WWE after the meeting, making it clear that he didn’t want to leave wrestling, but he was interested in branching out into acting. “I have a background in theater and such, and I went into all that and I just said, ‘What’s the right way to go about doing this?'” Kross stated.
Essentially, he wanted to take WWE up on the offer and become an ambassador for the promotion in film, much like Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns have been doing lately. “I was told to follow up in October, and I’d be flown into Los Angeles and they’d introduce me to all these people, … and I followed up and none of that ever happened,” Kross claimed. After following up a second time, he became frustrated with WWE, and went out on his own, producing his own short film in the process and has since continued to expand in film, teasing unreleased projects, as well as another film, “Godshot” that’s slated for release soon.
