The High River Library’s annual Rubber Ducky Cosplay Competition is entering its final days for submissions, and hundreds of tiny ducks have already dressed for the occasion.
Residents have until Saturday, Oct. 24, to drop off their costumed rubber ducks at the library for a chance to win prizes.
According to the library, hundreds of entries have already been submitted, with all kinds of creative costumes on display.
“Hundreds of tiny costumed ducks have taken over the library,” the library wrote in a Facebook post.

The annual competition invites residents of all ages to dress up a rubber duck as a character of their choosing, whether it’s a superhero, a literary figure or something completely original.
Residents have been able to pick up free rubber duck kits from the library since Sept. 29, giving them nearly a month to put their creativity to the test.
Last year’s competition saw 118 custom ducks submitted, including costumes inspired by Rapunzel, K-pop Demon Hunters and a spider-inspired creation dubbed “Duckception.”
In a previous interview with HighRiverOnline, library director Mary Zazelenchuk said she was impressed by the creativity of last year’s contestants.
“There were some super creative ones last year and it was just fun. It was just fun seeing what people came up with,” she said.
