Gamer.LK’s 2026 Play Expo and Colombo Comic Expo (CCx) together with title sponsor Maggi Papare Blast will return to the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC) on 5th and 6th December, bringing together thousands of young Sri Lankans for one of the country’s largest physical gatherings centred around vibrant, contemporary youth culture. Now in its 15th edition, the event builds on nearly two decades of experience in developing large-scale video gaming, cosplay and pop culture events in Sri Lanka.
At a time when youth culture is significantly shaped online, the two-day event has evolved into a physical hub for communities driven by all things gaming, technology, cosplay, art and pop culture.
“Bringing more than 10,000 young people together physically around interests largely shaped by a digital and creative-first culture shows just how far these communities have grown in Sri Lanka,” said Raveen Wijayatilake, Founder and CEO of Gamer.LK. “Video games and pop culture fandoms have co-evolved with our country’s youth culture, becoming a space where youth from across the island all converge into one major spectacle. It also gives brands, creators and businesses a unique opportunity to see and understand first-hand what this generation is interested in.”
The event also draws on Gamer.LK’s growing international experience. Through its international arm InGame Esports (IGE), the company works across global markets to deliver gaming, Esports and youth-focused experiences for international video game publishers. This exposure to global audiences, brands and events continues to shape the scale and experience delivered at this event.
Content from the previous edition generated over 23 million views, taking the event and its communities to a much wider digital audience beyond the thousands attending physically at SLECC.
Alongside Esports teams battling it out and indie game devs showcasing their latest titles, the cosplay arena has become the go-to platform for creative expression, attracting participants from across Sri Lanka to its stage. At the same time, independent artists and creators also receive the opportunity to display their best work, to a significant 10,000+ youth footfall.
