This year’s World Series has multitudes of compelling angles to it. That could be said any year, but this year it feels more significant as we await the beginning of the series tomorrow when the Tampa Bay Rays take on the Milwaukee Brewers.
Obviously, the biggest storyline is that neither of these two teams has ever won the World Series in their franchise’s history. Therefore, we are guaranteed to be crowning a first-time champion. There’s the relative “obscurity” of the two teams to some casual observers, but in reality, they were the two best teams in baseball throughout the regular season, and both entered the postseason as the number one seeds in their respective league. Some may look and see a lack of “star” players on the roster, but that downplays their collective talent as juggernauts and the budding stardom of younger players like Jackson Chourio and Junior Caminero.
No matter how you look at it, it’s shaping up to be a great series, at least on paper. However, it has big shoes to fill, as last year’s series was one of the most compelling in recent memory and has been called one of the best ever, as it was a back-and-forth affair that ultimately went to extra innings in Game 7. It was likely pure torture for both fan bases involved, but it was riveting <a href="https://comicvibe.com/singapore-airlines-to-upgrade-krisworld-entertainment-system-from-2027-with-bigger-screens-and-new-features/” title=”Singapore Airlines to upgrade KrisWorld entertainment system from 2027, with bigger screens and new features”>entertainment for the rest of us. Sometimes, it’s fun to just sit back and enjoy a great World Series even if your team is not involved. Sometimes the level of play is just so entertaining to watch that it reminds you why you love baseball in the first place.
So, what was your favorite World Series to watch as a neutral observer? Where would you rank last year’s edition? What does this year’s series need to do to top last year?
