Speaking about the title, Ayushmann said that it is part of pop culture and that Udta Teer draws from things that people already say in everyday conversations. The actor also highlighted what makes the film’s concept different. Udta Teer revolves around a Pakistani spy who arrives in India but loses his memory. He subsequently believes that he is Indian and eventually finds himself playing for India, creating an unusual situation that forms the basis of the comedy.
Ayushmann described the concept as “quite unique”, while making it clear that the film ultimately remains a comedy at its heart. The combination of espionage, mistaken identity and humour gives Udta Teer a distinctive premise, while the title adds another layer of pop-cultural relevance to the film.
