Here is a breakdown of everything coming to Netflix between October 5th and October 11th, 2026, including five (yes, we’re feeling sorry for being late) expanded highlights you definitely won’t want to miss. A full list of everything coming in October 2026 can be found here.

Best New Shows and Movies Coming to Netflix This Week

Animals (2026)

Ben Affleck and Gillian Anderson (amongst others) team up in this gripping, high-stakes political thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Affleck stars as a mayoral candidate whose grueling campaign is completely derailed when his son is kidnapped. Pushed to the absolute brink, he and his wife (Anderson) are forced to get their hands dirty and cross every moral boundary imaginable to bring him home safely.

Below (Limited Series)

Josh Hartnett leads this atmospheric, suspenseful six-part supernatural thriller that will have you second-guessing your next trip to the beach. When a mysterious and deadly creature begins terrorizing a remote coastal town, the locals must uncover the terrifying truth lurking in the water before it’s too late. With Spooky Season officially underway, this chilling Netflix Original limited series is the perfect, bingeable addition to your October Halloween watchlist.

Lorne (2026)

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville directs this insightful, star-studded look into the life, career, and enduring legacy of Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels. Featuring candid interviews and behind-the-scenes stories from a massive roster of comedy legends—including Tina Fey, Conan O’Brien, Maya Rudolph, and Chris Rock—this documentary is an absolute must-watch for anyone who grew up quoting SNL sketches.

Take Charge of My Heart (Season 1)

If you are looking for a completely wild new K-drama obsession, you’ve found it. This romantic comedy follows a ruthless corporate heir secretly surviving on a failing artificial heart who crosses paths with a struggling screenwriter. Her twist? She was struck by lightning as a child and literally has electricity coursing through her body. They strike up a mutually beneficial contract relationship: he gives her the physical romance she needs for her script (since he’s the only guy she can touch without severely shocking them), and she acts as his literal human battery pack. It’s unapologetically soapy, delightfully ridiculous, and perfect for a weekend binge.

Save Yourselves! (2020)

Sunita Mani and John Reynolds star in this quirky, highly relatable indie sci-fi comedy. The film follows a trendy, extremely online Brooklyn couple who decide to completely unplug from their phones and technology for a week-long getaway at a remote upstate cabin. Blissfully off the grid, they are left completely unaware that a bizarre alien invasion has begun destroying the planet. It’s a hilarious, lighthearted look at millennial anxieties and survival.
