The boarding pass from your first flight, a key ring from a family trip, the scarf you were given on your honeymoon – keepsakes hold the stories of your life and evoke joyful memories of travel.
As we celebrate 80 Years Together, we’re reminiscing about the journeys we’ve shared with you over the decades and commemorating our history with a special collection of Cathay merchandise that you’ll treasure for years to come.
Our new Classic eras collection reflects milestones in our history, from our modest beginnings as a regional airline after the Second World War to the expansion of our fleet in the Jet Age and the launch of our signature Brushwing logo.
“With this anniversary collection, we wanted to bring our passengers a selection of exclusive collector’s items and lifestyle goods that draw on our rich heritage,” says Jessica Lee, Head of Brand and Content at Cathay. “It’s been an honour to connect people around the world over the past eight decades, and we want our passengers to have these wonderful souvenirs of their travels with Cathay Pacific.”
To create the Classic eras collection, we trawled through the Swire Archives to find vintage memorabilia and revive their designs. Housed in an elegant box, our badge sets are inspired by retro Cathay Pacific insignia and aircraft, as well as luggage stickers and tags.
An archival sticker with our 1950s “Cathay Pacific Airways” logo has a new lease of life as a pennant-shaped badge that’s the perfect ornament for your jacket or backpack. And you can make journeys effortless with our functional and stylish travel accessories, such as a sleek green passport holder with a wave pattern that recalls the boarding pass folders handed to passengers at check-in counters in the 1980s.
Collectibles based on our magnificent fleet have always been popular with at-shaped piggy banks and phones. For our 80th anniversary, we’re releasing a variety of models showcasing our most iconic aircraft, from our first Douglas DC-3, “Betsy”, to the Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 747-8F bearing our classic “lettuce leaf sandwich” livery.
Meanwhile, a limited-edition set includes a model Boeing 777-300ER featuring our newly unveiled Spirit of Hong Kong – 80th Anniversary Edition livery created in collaboration with the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. You’ll also see our aircraft printed on special canvas tote bags and Remove Before Flight keyrings.
