American-Indian musician Raja Kumari is taking her creative journey to new heights, stepping into a new role behind the music. She is known for her ability to connect with audiences across Indian cinema and she is making her debut as a music director with Impure teaming up with composer Karan Pandav.
Raja Kumari has also contributed her vocals and rap to OMG, an energetic Sangeet song from the English-language film. The song is pitched as a festive and wedding season anthem with its desi flavor and wedding-ready theme.
Raja Kumari Begins a New Musical Voyage
Impure marks Raja Kumari’s debut as a music director, although she has worked on Indian film music and performed for major cinematic ventures. Her collaboration with Karan Pandav adds another dimension to the film’s soundtrack.
She also pops up in the movie, giving fans another reason to get excited about her involvement in the project.
OMG Adds a Desi Twist to the Sangeet
In the film, the Sangeet number OMG raises a familiar conversation around women being labeled as “too much” while flipping the question back on men.
The lyrics for this song are by Kadali Sathyanarayana in Telugu and Raja Kumari adds her unique rap and vocal style to the track.
The song has already attracted attention for its celebratory presentation. The film also had a desi musical identity, with actress and producer Varahi Mallipamula dancing to the track at Times Square with American dancers, giving it an international touch.

The film Impure is directed by Nishanthi Evani, starring Yashna, Varahi and Sai Krishna. The story is by Varahi Mallipamula who is also producing the film with her mother Sridevi Mallipamula.

Filmmaker Nandhini Reddy released the trailer at the film’s pre-release event and conveyed her wishes to the mother-daughter production team.
The trailer for Impure suggests that it will deal with modern day social issues in a comic touch that will mix the themes with an entertaining story.
The film has music from Raja Kumari, a festive Sangeet number and a cast and crew with Indian and international sensibilities to give a unique spin on contemporary relationships and social expectations.
Impure is set to hit theaters on October 2. As the festive and wedding season is on the cards, OMG is all set to add a lively desi soundtrack to the film’s promotional campaign.
