After four straight years of international headline acts, one of Australia’s greatest musical exports is back home and in the AFL Grand Final spotlight as Kylie Minogue headlines the pre-game entertainment.
And it’s only fitting that Melbourne’s pop princess, 58, is performing ahead of the game between the Brisbane Lions and Fremantle given her links to the former.

Minogue’s musical career was kickstarted when, aged 18, she performed at a Fitzroy Football Club benefit concert at Festival Hall where a music producer scouted her.
She was soon on her way to London where a remarkable 40-year run, consistently topping the charts at home and abroad, got underway.
A decade later Fitzroy merged with the Brisbane Bears to create the Brisbane Lions, and another three decades on, they’re seeking their second AFL premiership three-peat of the century.

WHAT TIME DOES KYLIE MINOGUE’S AFL GRAND FINAL PRE-GAME ENTERTAINMENT START?
The 2026 AFL Grand Final starts at 2:30pm AEST on Saturday September 26 at the MCG.
The pre-game entertainment featuring Kylie Minogue is expected to start at around 1:30pm AEST, with details TBC.
HOW CAN I WATCH KYLIE MINOGUE AT THE AFL GRAND FINAL?
You can watch Kylie Minogue’s performance live on Seven and 7Plus, if you’re in Australia.
The Grand Final can be streamed using the 7Plus app (if your device has the live TV feature enabled), but is only available up to 1080p quality (depending on the speed of your internet connection). Seven does not use 4K.

WHICH SONGS WILL KYLIE MINOGUE PERFORM AT THE AFL GRAND FINAL?
Minogue is expected to perform a 20-minute medley featuring between eight and 10 of her biggest hits from across her almost 40-year music career.
Simply performing songs which reached No.1 on the Aussie charts would give Minogue a huge range of options, from 80s tracks like The Locomotion, I Should Be So Lucky and Got to Be Certain, to 90s hit Confide in Me, to 00s tunes such as Spinning Around, On a Night Like This, Can’t Get You Out of My Head, In Your Eyes, Slow and 2 Hearts.
That doesn’t even include bangers like Better the Devil You Know, Love at First Sight, All the Lovers and her most recent big hit, Padam Padam.
WHO WILL PERFORM ALONG WITH KYLIE MINOGUE AT THE GRAND FINAL?
Minogue will get the spotlight in her pre-game show with a huge group of back-up dancers and performers alongside her.
Also performing will be singer-songwriter G Flip (opening act for Minogue), musical actor Michael Paynter (national anthem) and the iconic Mike Brady (Up There Cazaly during the retiree motorcade).
