Is there too much Batman in your life? Even if you plan to read this 1,648-page collection of hardcover comic stories based on Rocksteady’s brilliant Arkham trilogy, science won’t tell you. Batman: Arkham Legends is now available for pre-order for $150 and is expected to be released on September 24th, making it a must-have for any fan of the Arkham games developed by Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Montreal Few companion works. The new omnibus edition brings the entire saga together in one volume, which may or may not require Batman’s powers to carry it with you.

If the price sounds high, just tell yourself that at only 11 cents per page, that’s a pretty good deal. All kidding aside, this comprehensive collection can actually be divided into five volumes (at least), each priced at $30, which sounds very reasonable. Plus, Amazon often discounts books before they’re released, and you don’t have to pay a pre-order fee until they ship. If Amazon drops the price before then (which is often the case with large comic book omnibuses), you’ll pay the lowest price offered since your order was placed.

With Batman: Arkham Asylum becoming a huge hit upon its release in 2009, DC Comics didn’t waste any time creating additional content for fans to delve into. This comprehensive collection collects all the backstory of the Arkham comics, from the Dark Knight’s first years on the streets in Batman: Arkham Origins to the dark and deadly arc of Batman: Arkham Knight Genesis story and everything in between. The full list of the series includes:

    • Batman: Arkham Asylum: Road to Arkham
    • Batman: Arkham City #1-5
    • Batman: Arkham City: Endgame #1
    • Batman: Arkham Knight #1-12
    • Batman: Arkham Knight Annual #1
    • Batman: Arkham Knight: Batgirl and Harley Quinn #1
    • Batman: Arkham Knight Genesis #1-6
    • Batman: Arkham Knight: Robin Special #1
    • Batman: Arkham Origins Special Edition
    • Batman: Arkham is insane

These are all fantastic mini-series and stand-alone series, helmed by some of DC’s best creators, and Batman: Unhinged has added to the line-up known for being a digital-first series. Although it was later reprinted in traditional comic book form, it’s nice to have it included among the other series in this comprehensive collection. Another cool thing about this hardcover is that the illustrations from the Arkham City series are drawn by Carlos D’Anda, who collaborated with Rocksteady on Batman and his rogues in the Arkham games The gallery has undergone some unique redesigns.

It’s worth seeing how these games were put together, and there’s a great book detailing all of this work, although it’s pricey as it’s out of print. Alternatively, there’s no problem going back to the original source material, as you can buy the PC version of Batman: Arkham Collection on Fanatical for $8.40.

The collection includes Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight—sorry, friends, no Arkham Origins—and the 86% discount is unbeatable. Not only do you get a bunch of outdated games, but you also get all the DLC and expansion pass content. If you want to replay, you can unlock some great concept art, character models, and more through these games.

Batman: The Arkham Chronicles isn’t the only omnibus or graphic novel slated for release in 2024 featuring the Caped Crusader and his Gotham City foes. One of the highlights is The absolute Batman version of Grant Morrison and Dave McKean’s Arkham AsylumNot surprisingly, this became the inspiration and title for Rocksteady’s first Batman game. “Batman: Arkham Asylum” will be released later this month. Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight: Conqueror Also getting the Absolute Batman treatment on September 17th.

The premium Absolute Batman hardcover collection is great, but it’s not the only one reissuing classic Batman stories. DC has also re-released some excellent Batman books, known as DC Finest. batman years one and two is the first book in the new DC Finest series. The $40 paperback has nearly 600 pages and is scheduled to be released on November 5.
