Image Comics is bringing the heat this winter with a brand-new ongoing series, Creature Corps, from bestselling writer Curt Pires (Fireborn) and rising star artist JOK (51, In Hell We Fight).
The premise sounds like a chaotic, high-octane mashup: imagine ’90s creature-battling nostalgia injected with the sharp, ultra-violent satire found in The Boys. Set in a world where time broke in 1999 and “Calamity Creatures” emerged, the story follows former world champion Dusty Gotem, who is pulled out of hiding after a time quake leaves his mother injured. To pay the bills, he has to reunite his team and reclaim his title.
Creature Corps #1 features a giant-sized first issue for $4.99 and hits shelves on December 2. It’s also promising a TCG component alongside a massive array of variant covers.
