MeTV is set to roll out a refreshed weekday and weekend lineup beginning Monday, giving classic-television fans more of a flagship wartime comedy and bringing two long-absent sitcoms back to the schedule.

Starting Monday, September 7, the network will present four consecutive episodes of M*A*S*H every weekday. The two-hour block begins at 6 p.m. Eastern and 5 p.m. Central, offering an extended stretch of life at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. The expansion reflects continued demand for the series, which first appeared on CBS in September 1972 as a television adaptation of Robert Altman’s 1970 film and Richard Hooker’s novel. Set during the Korean War, the program followed doctors and staff who used humor and camaraderie to navigate the chaos of a mobile surgical unit. Alan Alda starred as Hawkeye Pierce alongside an ensemble that included Loretta Swit, Jamie Farr, Mike Farrell and Harry Morgan. The series ran for 11 seasons, far longer than the three-year conflict it depicted, and mixed comedy with dramatic moments in a format that helped define the television dramedy. Its 1983 finale remains one of the most-watched scripted episodes in U.S. television history.

To accommodate the longer M*A*S*H window, Hogan’s Heroes will move to a new morning slot at 6:30 a.m. Eastern and 5:30 a.m. Central, immediately before Toon In With Me. The sitcom originally aired on CBS from 1965 to 1971 across six seasons and 168 episodes. Created by Bernard Fein and Albert S. Ruddy, it was set in a German prisoner-of-war camp during World War II. Bob Crane played Colonel Robert Hogan, who led Allied prisoners in covert operations while outwitting their captors, including Werner Klemperer’s Colonel Klink and John Banner’s Sergeant Schultz. The series used satire to lampoon authority and later became a durable syndication favorite.

Additional changes arrive the following weekend. On Sunday, September 13, Gilligan’s Island returns at 2 p.m. Eastern and 1 p.m. Central, followed by Mama’s Family at 3 p.m. Eastern and 2 p.m. Central. Gilligan’s Island, created by Sherwood Schwartz, debuted on CBS in 1964 and lasted three seasons. Its premise followed seven castaways shipwrecked on an uncharted Pacific island after a storm interrupted a three-hour tour aboard the S.S. Minnow. Bob Denver played the accident-prone first mate Gilligan, Alan Hale Jr. was the Skipper, and the ensemble included Jim Backus, Natalie Schafer, Tina Louise, Dawn Wells and Russell Johnson. Although critics were often harsh, the series won its time slot and later became a syndication staple, spawning reunion movies and animated spin-offs.

Mama’s Family began as a recurring sketch called The Family on The Carol Burnett Show before spinning off into a 1982 television movie titled Eunice and then a full series. Vicki Lawrence starred as the sharp-tongued Thelma Harper, known as Mama, in a sitcom set in Raytown, Missouri. The show originally aired on NBC from 1983 to 1984, was canceled, and then revived in first-run syndication from 1986 to 1990 for a total of six seasons. Ken Berry, Dorothy Lyman, and later Beverly Archer and Allan Kayser rounded out the core cast as the Harper household navigated family squabbles and small-town life.

The combined adjustments give MeTV viewers more hours of familiar wartime comedy plus two additional classic sitcoms that have entertained audiences for decades. The expanded M*A*S*H block, the morning relocation of Hogan’s Heroes, and the Sunday-afternoon return of Gilligan’s Island and Mama’s Family together refresh the network’s lineup while keeping its focus on well-known series from television’s past.

MeTV is available on broadcast TV across most of the country. You can stream it on Frndly TV, Philo, Fubo, and Sling TV. Find out where else you can watch at MeTV.com.
