Doctor Doom is set to become the next big bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe this December with the release of Avengers: Doomsday. Since his inception, the tyrannical ruler of Latveria and archenemy of the Fantastic Four has been recognized as one of the most brilliant and powerful supervillains in Marvel Comics. Doom’s technological innovations, armor, strategic thinking, and mastery of magic have allowed him to more than back up his immense ego and defeat Marvel’s strongest heroes and gods. However, even with all this power and intellect, Doctor Doom would find himself at a loss against the mightiest heroes of DC Comics.

DC Comics sports some of the strongest characters in modern fiction, with many of them capable of destroying and reshaping universes without breaking a sweat. If Doctor Doom were to travel to the DC Universe, he would undoubtedly try to conquer it. However, the ruler of Latveria would quickly discover that the heroes of DC are far more powerful than the superheroes he’s used to fighting in the Marvel Universe, and would stop his attempts at conquest.

    5) Flash

Doctor Doom is one of the strongest and smartest villains in Marvel, but he’d have a hard time taking on DC’s Fastest Man Alive. Doctor Doom has faced off against numerous speedsters, but most of them can barely break the speed of light. Meanwhile, the Flash can calmly transcend the laws of time, space, and reality thanks to his immeasurable speed that’s fueled by the infinite dimension of perpetual motion known as the Speed Force. Additionally, while Doctor Doom is a brilliant scientist and sorcerer, the Flash’s mind can operate at speeds countless times faster than even the smartest of humans. This fast thinking allows the Flash to process and react to information at incalculable speeds, which would allow him to dodge anything Doctor Doom could throw at him, while also finding time to dismantle the villain’s armor. The Flash’s mastery of time travel is also far beyond anything Doom has ever achieved. Doom may be near all-powerful, but even he wouldn’t be able to see the Flash coming.

    4) Doctor Fate

Last year’s big event saw Doctor Doom become Sorcerer Supreme and take over the Earth. However, if Doom were to travel to the DC Universe, he’d have to deal with a far greater Sorcerer Supreme: Doctor Fate. With the Helmet of Fate, Kent Nelson’s body becomes the host of the ancient and all-powerful Lord of Order known as Nabu. While Doctor Doom is certainly no slouch when it comes to magic, he lacks Nabu’s millions of years of experience fighting eldritch gods and demons that have the power to tear the multiverse apart. There are practically no limits to what Doctor Fate can accomplish with his magic. Doctor Fate has casually tossed planets into stars, flown trillions of times faster than light, held back the Big Bang, regenerated from a single thought, and defeated a Lord of Order and Lord of Chaos simultaneously. Doctor Doom may have defeated his fair share of cosmic and mystical beings, but Doctor Fate’s countless spells give him plenty of options to overwhelm the ruler of Latveria.

    3) Zatanna

Doctor Doom’s problems with Doctor Fate would be nothing compared to the difficulties that he would face with Zatanna. Despite presenting herself as a simple stage magician, Zatanna has recently been made the Prime Magus. This title and role make Zatanna the champion and protector of not just magic, but every realm in existence. Doctor Doom’s technology and spells would certainly provide a challenge for Zatanna at first, but the magical feats that she has performed clearly show just how much stronger she is than Doom. With just a thought, Zatanna has sent shockwaves across all of creation, fired an energy blast as powerful as a star, and crumbled up an entire universe as if it were a sheet of paper. Zatanna even helped restore the infinite multiverse after its destruction. After defeating omnipotent multiversal villains like the Upside-Down Man, Zor, the Great Darkness, and Pralaya, Zatanna would have little trouble making Doctor Doom disappear.

    2) Superman

A fight between Superman and Doctor Doom would be the ultimate battle of DC’s most noble hero against Marvel’s most notorious villain. Undoubtedly, Doctor Doom would give Superman the fight of his life. The villain’s vast intellect, high-tech gadgets, and powerful spells would prove a challenge to the Man of Steel. However, Superman has defeated villains far more powerful than Doom. Superman’s infinite power and speed would allow him to overwhelm Doctor Doom before the villain could even blink. Similar to the Flash, Superman’s speed is far beyond anything Doctor Doom could counter. And while Superman is weak to magic, he’s managed to overcome cosmic mystical demons like Lord Satannus and reality warpers like Dominus. And while Doctor Doom’s armor might be tough, even it wouldn’t be able to withstand the strike of a being capable of annihilating a multiverse with a punch. In the end, DC’s symbol of hope would triumph over Doom.

    1) Spectre

Doctor Doom has challenged some of the mightiest beings in the Marvel Multiverse, from Galactus to the Beyonders. However, even Doom would find himself to be no match for God’s eternal wrath. The Spectre is vengeance personified and the instrument of God’s divine punishment upon mortals. All of existence and magic are at the Spectre’s command, which he uses to punish the wicked for their sins. Given the laundry list of atrocities that Doctor Doom has committed over his lifetime, Spectre would be more than happy to force Doom to pay for his countless transgressions. Doctor Doom’s mastery of science and arcane arts may be vast, but they are nothing compared to the Spectre’s omnipotence and omniscience. The Spectre has removed all magic from the universe, frozen over Hell, and prevented universes from colliding. Against a being like the Spectre, Doctor Doom may find himself humbled for the first time in his life.
