HBO Max had another stellar morning at the Emmy nominations as huge hauls for Hacks and The Pitthelped it pip Netflix to the top spot
Apple also had a massive day Wednesday with its most ever nominations thanks to big showings from Pluribus and summer hit Widow’s Bay. It surpassed its total of 79 nominations last year as The Studio and Severancehelped its haul
HBO Max totaled 122 nominations, Netflix landed 111 and Apple scored 87 television nominations. It marked a slight surprise as Netflix was expected to lead, but HBO Max picked up more nominations than expected

Apple landed three nominations in both the Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series categories with Pluribus, Slow Horsesand Your Friends and Neighbors in drama and Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Shrinking and Widow’s Bay in comedy. The tech company also counted two commercials
HBO Max scored three in drama— The Pitt, The Gilded Ageand A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — while Netflix landed a double in Outstanding Limited Series with The Beast In Meand Beef

Disney landed 111 nominations overall, with ABC picking up 40, FX landing 23, Hulu getting 22, Disney+ taking 14 and Nat Geo finding 12. Disney+ was down by half compared to the 28 it got last year, FX was down from 35 to 23, but ABC ticked up a notch
Amazon will be happy, having reversed its downward numbers from last year’s 12 nominations to land 28 nominations for Prime Video. MGM+ also picked up 11 nominations for Spider Noir
Paramount+ only landed one nomination (two if you count Showtime), which was down from seven last year. Peacock, meanwhile, was largely in line with last year with 18 nominations
Broadcast television rebounded slightly with ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC landing 105 nominations, which was up from the 99 it got last year
Elsewhere, The Daily Show helped Comedy Central to eight noms, YouTube got six, Bravo, thanks to controversial reality hit Summer House, got five, as did PBS
