Mexico City, September 10, 2026.-Do you remember when you depended on the TV programming guide to decide what was on? In Mexico, that changed exactly 15 years ago. With the arrival of Netflix, the way people experienced television also changed: what to watch, when to watch it, and how to watch it. Binge-watching became a phenomenon, seasons could be finished in a single weekend, and new ways emerged to discover and enjoy stories from around the world.
And when it comes to milestones, 11 years ago, in 2015, Netflix premiered its first original production outside the United States:Club de Cuervos. It was a defining moment that marked the beginning of a new chapter for Mexican stories and opened the door to a decade of unforgettable characters, genres, and voices created in Mexico.
To celebrate its 15th anniversary in Mexico, Netflix is announcinga new slate of 15 Mexican productions coming soon: comedy, drama, and action series and films; documentaries exploring topics such as memory, identity, family, and everyday life; and unscripted formats that will put physical endurance, strategy, and the ability to deceive and betray to the test.
“Celebrating 15 years in Mexico fills us with pride, but above all, with infinite gratitude to the creative community and to the millions of Mexicans who enjoy our content every day,”saidCarolina Leconte, VP of Content for Mexico and Licensing for Latin America at Netflix. “The 15 productions we are announcing today celebrate our history in the country, but they are also an invitation to keep exploring: new genres, new voices, and new ways of telling the stories of who we are. What excites us most about Mexico is that there is still so much left to discover.”
