Shohei Ohtani has established himself as one of the greats in MLB history, if not the greatest. If his strikeouts weren’t enough to have a batter quivering in his boots, his barrage of homers are certainly ones to be feared regardless of who’s pitching to him.
That level of greatness has translated off the field, with collectibles possessing even a whisper of a relation to Ohtani seeing their prices surge.
This effect will most certainly come to fruition when Fanatics Collect decides to drop the PSA 9 2025 Topps MLB MVP The Game Dynasty Black Shohei Ohtani MLB LOGOMAN PATCH AUTO 1/1 on October 8.
The logoman patch on this card holds great significance not only for Ohtani but also across MLB history. Cut from his pants, it’s from Game 4 of the 2025 National League Championship Series.
With the Dodgers up 3-0 in the best-of-seven, Ohtani had a game that etched his name in the annals of baseball history.
Not only did he strike out 10 over six scoreless innings on the mound, but he also hit three home runs on the batting side. The single greatest showcase of two-way dominance the MLB has ever borne witness to.
On the X post announcing this card going up for auction, Fanatics asked fans, “How much do YOU think it will sell for?”
There is absolutely no chance it dips below seven figures. There has been a precedent set for an Ohtani collectible pulling in eight figures as well, in quite the historic sale.
Given that the aforementioned Logoman Patch is a one-of-one, has Ohtani’s autograph in gold ink, fabric from his pants from the iconic showing, and is a PSA 9, this card could easily cross $5 million without adding in Fanatics’ 20% buyer’s premium.
What Is The Most Expensive Shohei Ohtani Card Ever Sold?
One of the most expensive cards featuring the Japanese icon was the Topps Chrome Gold Logoman Autograph 1-of-1 Card. It sold for $3 million in December 2025, including the buyer’s premium.
This card commemorated his 2024 National League MVP and included a patch from the Dodgers’ 15-2 win over the Marlins on April 29, 2025.
While $3 million is no sum to scoff at by any stretch of the imagination, it pales in comparison to the most expensive Ohtani card ever sold.
It was reported on August 1 that the Ohtani 1-of-1 Back-to-Back Gold Logoman Autograph Relics sold for an earth-shattering $11 million. This made it the third-highest public sale for a trading card in history.
It was bought by Matthew “Shyne” Allen, who toldESPN, “The card just resonated deep with me. And I was like, you know what, I have to get this card.”
Will the ‘Game Dynasty’ Ohtani that’s going up for auction in two days surpass this $11 million price tag? The probability of it happening is leaning toward ‘unlikely’. But, then again, when has betting the ‘under’ ever gone wrong?
