ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited reported a 13% year-on-year increase in total income to ₹2,224.6 crore (₹22,246 million) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026, up from ₹1,995.6 crore in Q2 FY26. Growth was primarily fueled by a record digital performance, with OTT platform ZEE5 doubling its quarterly revenues year-on-year to ₹626 crore (₹6,260 million) and turning EBITDA positive at ₹41.6 crore, reversing a loss of ₹31.2 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
Digital expansion was anchored by subscription and sports streaming growth, highlighted by ZEE5’s broadcast of FIFA 2026, which reached over 400 million viewers and generated over 50 billion minutes of watch time. The sports push boosted total subscription revenue by 30% year-on-year and drove a 20% sequential uptick in Q2 advertising revenue, helping buffer flat year-on-year domestic ad revenue of ₹803 crore. Concurrently, Zee Music expanded its digital footprint, recording 179 million YouTube subscribers and generating over 59 billion video views during the quarter.
Top-line expansion was offset by higher operating expenses, with total expenditure rising 18% year-on-year to ₹2,153.8 crore due to FIFA 2026 rights acquisition, content investments, and heightened marketing spend. For the first half of the financial year (H1 FY27), operating revenue grew 9% to ₹4,131.9 crore, though cumulative EBITDA fell 60% to ₹149.7 crore and PAT declined 46% to ₹119.9 crore amid macro advertising headwinds.
CEO Punit Goenka noted that multi-lingual offerings and long-term sports rights through 2034 position the company for sustainable digital monetization, supported by a cash and treasury position of ₹2,569.4 crore as of September 2026.
