YouTuber WILDCAT believes that YouTubers as a whole are “underrated” compared to streamers, given that you don’t really see YouTube content outside of the platform.
For years, if you wanted to be a content creator on the internet, having a successful YouTube channel was your best bet. Now, there are plenty of other routes to take, including becoming a livestreamer across Twitch, Kick, TikTok, and beyond.
YouTube is still the go-to for a lot of creators, but streaming dominates the zeitgeist a little more, seeing as clips of different streamers are everywhere.
That is one of the reasons why WILDCAT believes YouTubers are “underrated” compared to streamers.
WILDCAT says YouTubers are “underrated” compared to streamers
Speaking to Dexerto, the Vanoss Gaming crew member said: “Outside of MrBeast and a handful of like the biggest ones, I feel like there is such a focus on streamers, whether it be Twitch, Kick, IRL, these people that keep going viral on Twitter and TikTok because their random clips are blowing up all the time.”
The gaming creator noted that YouTube has done a “really good job” at “encapsulating” content on the platform – be it long-form videos, Shorts, or streams. “There’s no reason to really pull that stuff outside of the platform,” he added.
“I just think YouTubers in general are underrated at the moment. There are some people pulling crazy numbers doing crazy things.”
WILDCAT pointed to “lawnmowing channels” that people have “never heard of” getting “five million views” on videos as another example as well.
In the past, creators like Disguised Toast have said that solely being focused on YouTube is “harder” than streaming, as the latter has become more mainstream over the years.
IShowSpeed has been on both sides of the coin, streaming on YouTube and Twitch. He is up over 50 million subscribers at this point and still gets insane numbers on some of his clips.
