The brilliant Grace Rose Dolan, a recent gold medallist in art at the Community Games All-Ireland final, will be among those feature their talent when Moore Hall plays its part in Culture Night 2026 this coming Friday.

Events in the south Roscommon village will begin from 6.45pm and entry is free, with several artists putting works on display.

From Dromalga, Grace-Rose recently came in first place in the Under-14 art competition at the Visual Arts Centre in Carlow. She chose the theme ‘debating’ for her entry and her superb piece hugely impressed the adjudicators who awarded her the gold medal. Grace-Rose was representing Roscommon at the event having previously come through the provincial series of the 2026 Cairn Community Games.

Dee McKiernan, a poet and visual artist, will also have work on display. Her creative work is deeply connected to local history, heritage and a beautiful yet fragile natural environment. Her work also reflects memory, personal trauma and shared human experiences.

Also featuring is Anna Obara whose work is inspired by nature, light, silence and the small moments often passed by without noticing. Anna aims to create a little space to pause, breathe and see the beauty in the world.

Next up will be Dympna Boyle, a self-taught artist working primarily in acrylics. Her style is semi-abstract, inspired by connection to the landscape.

Nessa McMahon’s work will also feature. In addition to designing and making quilts, Nessa paints in acrylics. Nessa particularly enjoys painting seascapes and nature, with flowers being a favourite subject.

Hughie Glynn has worked as a freelance commercial illustrator since the 1990s, as well as carrying out portraiture and caricature artwork commissions, while Yuliia Polishchuk works as an art therapist using Mandalas as a visual tool for self-discovery, where each creation reflects a personal emotional state captured in the moment.

Finally, there is Amanda Ralph, an Athlone-born contemporary installation artist and academic whose recent artwork is deeply tied to Cornafulla Bog and the Shannon Callows.

The Moore Community Office has invited as many people as possible to attend these artistic displays.
