A new report by The Information has stated that Xbox is set to layoff hundreds of workers and consolidate ‘several’ studios.

A new report by The Information has stated that Xbox is set to lay off hundreds of employees this week, as well as consolidating studios. The report states that ‘several’ studios will be consolidated but does not give any idea as to which ones.

Jason Schreier stated on his podcast Triple Click over the weekend that layoffs for Blizzard were imminent. The publisher had avoided major layoffs back in July’s ‘Xbox Reset‘. That saw new CEO Asha Sharma cut 1600 jobs with a pledge to cut 1600 more over the next fiscal year.

Both Jez Corden of Windows Central and noted Resetera leaker NatetheHate have both intimated that major changes could be coming for Halo Studios. With ‘the future of Halo’ coming ‘within the day‘. Halo Studios has recently released Halo: Campaign Evolved, which can be a dangerous time for studios as they tend to be in-between projects.
