When Microsoft announced further price hikes for the Xbox Series X/S, it was only for the United States. However, it seems that all regions have been affected, with Europe and the United Kingdom seeing increases up to €200/£170.

Spotted by Resetera and confirmed on Xbox’s official site, the Xbox Series S (512 GB), previously retailing for €349.99/£299.99, is now €449.99/£429.99 while the 1 TB model costs €599.99/£519.99 (previously €399.99/£349.99). The Xbox Series X’s 1 TB digital is now €749.99/£619.99 (from €549.99/£449.99) and the same model with a disc drive costs €799.99/£669.99 (from €599.99/£499.99).

It’s a significant jump across the board, though not unexpected because of ongoing memory shortages. Reports indicated that console supplies would struggle to keep up with the demand forGrand Theft Auto 6 later this year, and while Sony offered some reassurance for the PS5, Xbox seemingly can’t offer the same.

Of course, you also have to wonder how this will affect the company’s recent exclusivity strategy, with Gears of War: E-Day slated to launch as an Xbox console exclusive on October 6th (alongside PC). With a reported budget of $400 million (if not more), one has to wonder how it will ultimately pan out sales-wise. Stay tuned for more updates, and in the meantime, check out our preview of Horde Siege here.
