MCU fans have a reason to hope for the return of Wonder Man and Ben Kingsley‘s Trevor Slattery. <a href="https://comicvibe.com/marvel-legends-jean-grey-from-x/” title=”Marvel Legends Jean Grey from X”>Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum offered a promising update on the beloved characters following the Disney+ show’s cancellation after its first season.
Speaking with YouTuber Brandon Davis on his podcast Main Character, Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum shared his honest thoughts on Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Kingsley’s return in the future as Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery, respectively.
When Davis expressed hope that Abdul-Mateen II would return, Winderbaum replied, “I have hope. Everybody loves him. They love the character. We love Trevor. We love that team.”
Marvel’s recent decisions have raised questions about its television strategy
Marvel’s television output has received a more mixed response than MCU films. While shows such as Loki, WandaVision, and What If…? have received positive responses, various other projects have failed to strike a chord with fans. These include Secret Invasion, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Ironheart.
Marvel has also reassessed its television strategy and the future of individual series. In 2026, fans witnessed Wonder Man’s shocking end despite the early reports of its second season. The news was big considering the overwhelming positive reaction the show received.
The miniseries currently has a 91% Tomatometer score and an 87% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. Marvel didn’t provide a reason to shut down the show. Abdul-Mateen II later said he was told the cancellation was related to viewership numbers.
Marvel also confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will conclude with its third season. Similar to Wonder Woman, the TV series has been popular among critics and fans, with an amazing Tomatometer score of 87% and a Popcornmeter score of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Earlier this year, Kevin Feige teased a massive change to Marvel TV projects in a long time. “A lot of it is a strategy we’ve talked about for a while: focusing on quality.”
Although Winderbaum hopes Wonder Man and Trevor Slattery will return, there is no confirmed timeline.
