Fortnite fans are starting to look ahead to the new season in Fortnite, with Chapter 7 Season 4 on the horizon, and there are already discussions on whether the Sprite system will remain in place.

Sprites returned to Fortnite in Chapter 7 Season 3 with a new collectable mechanic, providing varying rewards for your progress and featuring a host of rare variants to track down.

It’s proven to be a popular mechanic for Fortnite players, and the question now remains as to whether Epic Games will keep it in place, and Insider Gaming has everything we know so far.

Epic Games has not officially revealed whether the Sprite mechanic will remain in Fortnite for Chapter 7 Season 4, but leaks indicate it will.

As previously covered by Insider Gaming, leaks have suggested the Sprite system will remain in place for next season, but a shake-up to the process is to be expected.

The Sprite system may not be for everyone, but it has proven to be a popular mechanic for many players, who have spent hours hunting down rare Sprites and elusive variants.

Some of the Sprites have included collabs with the likes of DC and TheBurntPeanut, opening the door for more crossovers in Fortnite if the system remains in place.

What Could be Removed From Sprites Next Season?

If Sprites remain in Fortnite next season, expect to see some changes to the loot pool with the removal of some existing Sprites and the addition of new ones.

The most likely to depart are the collab Sprites, which were added for a limited-time period, with base Sprites like the Fire Sprite and Water Sprite likely to remain.

A big question, however, is whether any progress will be reset, or if the reward system will remain in place as is, adjusted for the new Sprites and any removals.

All the details should emerge closer to the start of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, which has a confirmed start date of August 20.
