Major updates and game modes to hit a top Western from last year. Playtonic Games has announced the Bandits & Bounties update for Cattle Country, giving PS5RPG fans new reasons to return.

Cattle Country was released in 2025 on PS5, PC, and other consoles. The wholesome game is described as a cozy cowboy adventure life sim. It lets players farm, fish, craft, and mine while fending off bandits in a massive, customizable ranch.

New gear, customization options, and fishing activities expand frontier life

The Bandits & Bounties update adds bounties, random store robberies, a new Toolbelt, an animal trap, and a rock tumbler tool. The update also adds new outfits, new fishing content, and much more. This includes several bug fixes that have long plagued players.

Players can pick up wanted posters at the Sheriff’s building and head out into the wilderness to track and capture the wanted bandits. Bandit camps will also populate the map as players explore the world. The bandits will also rattle up the town with random robberies across the General Store, Butcher, Carpenter, and the Bank.

The new Toolbelt (which can be bought from the store) lets players craft while exploring the world. Players can also get the Extra Large Bag, which expands the inventory limit by four rows to pack more reces, while the Rock Tumbler helps in uncovering rare gems while breaking down rocks

As for character customization, players can check out the new Tailoring Table, where they can use new outfits, hats, and other accessories. Those who like fishing can look forward to catching new fish every season with a special boat that appears every Tuesday and Saturday.

This is the game’s second major update. In October last year, developer Castle Pixel shipped the Family Life update, which added new family mechanics. The update let players marry NPCs and have kids with them, along with Halloween-inspired content.
