The winner of Miss America 2027 has been crowned!
The pageant took place on Sunday night (September 6) and was streamed live on YouTube. The event was hosted in West Palm Beach, Florida and featured delegates from all 50 states, in addition to the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
Miss Texas, Regan Hutsell, was crowned the winner with Miss Louisiana, Shelby Bordelon, named first runner-up.
Regan Hutsell has received praise for wearing her natural hair
Regan, 25, is a professional dancer who has performed as a Radio City Rockette and in international ballet groups.
While competing in the pageant, Regan made the decision to wear her natural hair.
“When I first started [competing], I didn’t know what I was going to do with my hair,” she told People. “I didn’t know if I was going to straighten it, I didn’t know if I was going to wear it natural. I had straightened my hair a few years ago, and it didn’t bounce back. And coming to this point in my life where I decided, no, I’m going to wear it curly; I’m going to wear it as is.”
“I think it’s important now to be able to show little girls who might be watching at home that they can exist as themselves with their own natural hair, with their own natural beauty, whatever that means to them, that feels a little bit different or a little bit outside of what maybe the stereotypical normal is,” she said.

What Does the Miss America 2027 Winner Receive?
The winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will each be eligible for a full-tuition graduate scholarship at Hood College toward an eligible graduate degree or certificate program.
The winner succeeds Cassie Donegan, who won the Miss America 2026 title while representing New York and received a $50,000 tuition scholarship.
