Liu-Shinron – “Dragon Ball GT”
The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week.
This time, we’re looking at Liu-Shinron from the TV anime “Dragon Ball GT”.
Story
An Evil Shinron governing wind and air, born from the Negative Energy accumulated through the overuse of the Dragon Balls.
Taking the form of a beautiful woman, she creates tornadoes that rain down massive amounts of fish from the sea, and is thus worshiped by fishermen as the benevolent “Princess Oto.”
While searching for the Dragon Balls, Goku and his friends arrive at a port town where Liu-Shinron appears alongside a tornado.
When Goku and the others figure out that Princess Oto is actually Liu-Shinron, she attacks them with Air-shattering Energy Ball.
She repels Goku’s Kamehameha using a mysterious ability resembling a Barrier.
She follows up with Mighty Hurricane Fury, but Goku realizes she was actually deflecting attacks by spinning at high speeds, not using a Barrier.
Revealing her true monster-like form, Liu-Shinron
attacks Goku, declaring, “No one who has seen my true face, has ever lived to tell anyone about it.” However, Goku easily mimics her high-speed spinning.
As they clash like spinning tops at high speeds,
she overwhelms Goku with tremendous wind pressure, yelling, “You may be able to… imitate my techniques… but can you keep up with my speed?”
She then unleashes Whirlwind Spin to corner Goku.
However, Pan notices that the center of the tornado enveloping Liu-Shinron is wide open, allowing Goku to snipe her with a Kamehameha and destroy her.

Born from an embarrassing wish!
Liu-Shinron was born from the Negative Energy created by Oolong’s wish for “Panties.”
