July 27 (UPI) — Prime Video is gearing up for the release of The Chosen Season 6.
The streaming service shared a teaser trailer for the season Monday featuring Jonathan Roumie as the Biblical figure Jesus.
The Chosen is a Christian drama series created by Dallas Jenkins. The show imagines the life and work of Jesus, from his early ministry to his final day and crucifixion.
Season 6 “captures the historic events of Jesus’ final day through the lives of those who love Him — and those who condemn Him,” an official description reads.
Theteaser trailer depicts moments recounted in the Christian bible, such as Jesus meeting his mother Mary (Vanessa Benavente) as he carries the cross and Jesus calling out and asking forgiveness for those involved in his crucifixion.
The cast also includes Shahar Isaac as Peter, Paras Patel as Matthew, Elizabeth Tabish as Mary Magdelene, Noah James as Andrew, George H. Xanthis as John, Abe Bueno-Jallad as Big James, Luke Dimyan as Judas, Richard Fancy as Caiaphas, Paul Ben-Victor as King Herod and Andrew James Allen as Pontius Pilate.
The Chosen Season 6 will have a three-episode premiere Nov. 15 on Prime Video, followed by weekly episodes. The season finale will release in theaters in spring 2027.
In addition to the new season, The Chosen cast will join adventurer Bear Grylls for a six-part series, The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls. The show premieres Aug. 9 on Prime Video.
