Sept. 2 (UPI) — HBO is gearing up for the <a href="https://comicvibe.com/dragon-ball-super-remake-confirms-release-date-with-new-trailer/” title=”Dragon Ball Super Remake Confirms Release Date With New Trailer”>release of the new series Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
The network shared a teaser trailer for the show Wednesday featuring Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is a TV adaptation of the J.K. Rowling fantasy book series, which was previously brought to life in eight films starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
The teaser introduces viewers to the main trio of Harry (McLaughlin), Hermione (Stanton) and Ron (Stout), along with the new interpretation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Fans of the franchise will recognize scenes such as the sorting hat ceremony and an encounter with a troll.
Other cast members include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.
In addition, Game of Thrones actor Kit Haringtonhas been cast as Gilderoy Lockhart.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod to serve as executive producer and direct multiple episodes.
The series premieres on HBO and HBO Max Dec. 25 on Christmas Day.
