While Marvel may be heading closer to a “street level” baseline series of shows on Disney+, there are still some remnants of the old strategy, with bigger budgets and bigger, movie-based stars. Now, VisionQuestarrives <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2026/10/13/visionquest-premiere-date-release-time-and-full-disney-episode-schedule/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>tonight, finishing the WandaVisionandAgatha All Along trilogy. Critics have given their thoughts, and while theRotten Tomatoes review score is solid, it is somewhere around the middle of MCU projects. Here’s the list:
-
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier– 84%
-
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law– 79%
-
The Punisher: One Last Kill – 73%
If we remove the Netflix shows, VisionQuestis further down the list, but I’m not going to act like an 85% is bad either. Generally speaking, the MCU TV show experiment has worked in terms of producing quality offerings, but the main problems include budget and the utter inability to make more than one season of almost any of these. We have Daredevil: Born Again, Loki and…that’s it. VisionQuest, meant to be a part of that trilogy, is not getting a second season by default. Hawkeyeseason 2 was derailed by a Jeremy Renner lowball salary offer. Wonder Man was renewed and then cancelled a short while later.Daredevil: Born Again is getting an unprecedented third season but will end after that and it has not had great viewership. We really don’t know much of what’s coming in the future past here. A new mystery show called Zodiacwith zero details was just announced as one.
VisionQueststars a number of MCU AIs brought to life, namely Paul Bettany’s Vision and the return of James Spader as Ultron, among others. A show about sentient AIs seems especially relevant at our present moment, but don’t expect much commentary, as the series was announced back in 2022 before things blew up to the place we are now.
What are reviews saying about VisionQuest?
RogerEbert.com – “If that sounds complex, this game of cyber cat and mercenary mouse has only begun…in its earnestness, VisionQuest is charmingly enthralling with just enough interplay between light and darkness to make us feel it.”
Variety – “VisionQuestcan be enjoyable in its comfort zone of zanily tweaking the Mindspace. But when it’s time to venture out into the tactile world, the show doesn’t leave a lasting mark.”
It’s been two years since Agatha All Along and a full five years since we’ve seen Vision and his wife in WandaVision, one of the first MCU shows ever, and one rarely topped. Will audiences tune in after all this time? We will find out starting tonight with its double-episode premiere.
