We could be offended here (What did they just say about corn?), but a parody video on the culture and lifestyle of Sioux Falls has gone viral after two Nashville-based YouTubers just cooked our Queen City.

Hey, at least we’re getting noticed.

Austin and Colin, a decade-old social media channel with over 25,000 subscribers, publishes weekly 60-second videos about cities like Waco or Omaha, businesses like Chick Fil-A or Trader Joes and brands like Nike or ketchup chips.

For Sioux Falls, they called out Giliberto’s and our bike loop, Smithfield Food’s smell, the absurd amount of casinos and why the heck is everything named Sanford? They even managed to bring up our miracle “Corn on the Curb” and the tired Zip Feed Mill’s failed demolition from over 20 years ago.

    They do their homework.

Co-creator Austin Bever says he and his partner, Colin Cooper, keep a robust list of growing metropolises nationwide, having thought about Sioux Falls “for a while now.”

Without making a visit, Bever said they dig into local news, research online and call up a few local officials to better understand a city’s “painfully accurate quirks.”

“We want to celebrate each city’s uniqueness in a way that’s inspiring but also makes people laugh in a world where so much content leans on fear or shock,” Bever says.

The city-centric, satirical productions have received over 18 million views, while expanded social media content, including their own songwriting, has received over 100 million views. Last year, they won in the Emmys’ first-ever social content category for a TikTok video they made about Mississippi State University.

“It’s a special experience for people who care enough to tell their stories,” Bever said.
