Elden Ring is launching imminently on Nintendo Switch 2, and we’re now able to get a better look at how it compares to the PS5 release with a graphics comparison video.

Much has been made of the Nintendo Switch 2 version going back to last year. Out of the gate, the title seemed to struggle with performance. FromSoftware definitely made improvements, but things aren’t perfect.

The main issue might be is that Elden Ring has an unlocked frame rate on Nintendo Switch 2. It may have made more sense to lock the action at 30 FPS as it can’t go much higher than that.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version also has some visual changes compared to PS5. However, there aren’t major differences beyond the vegetation and a few effects.

Dynamic resolution is also in play. When the internal resolution is too low, that can impact image quality.
