Art in the Park will be held Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 at Steamboat’s West Lincoln Park. John Camponeschi/Steamboat Pilot & Today

West Lincoln Part will come to life this weekend with live music, tasty delights, a beer tent and 153 vendors selling handmade goods and arts from across the region

The ironic event is celebrating its 53rd years, and will begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and runs until 5 p.m. The venue reopens at 9 a.m. Sunday with Art in the Park running until 4 p.m. that day

“It brings a focus on the creative community, and Steamboat Springs as a cultural destination,” said Kim Keith, executive director of Steamboat Creates the organization that hosts Art in the Park. “This is the largest art festival in Northwest Colorado weaving our identity to include the creative industries in addition to other wonderful things like ‘Bike Town USA, and ‘Ski Town USA.’”

There will be live entertainment featuring The Tri-Tones, Kirk Martensen, Marshall Thomas, Jane and Derek Blake and performances by the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp Saturday.  On Sunday, Angela Kennedy, Jay Roemer, The Morningside Trio and performances by Steamboat Dance Theatre will take the stage

“We start in January with applications for jurying our artists that are coming in, and yeah, and then we just ramp up until the weekend happens,” said Kim Keith, executive director of Steamboat Creates that hosts Art in the Park. “It’s a signature event for Steamboat Creates, and our largest fundraiser of the year. It helps us pay for this beautiful old building and provide scholarships for kiddos and working families.”
