The internet has made it easier than ever to turn a few seconds of a person’s voice or video into something completely different. Salman Khan says he knows that problem all too well.
After speaking out against online trolls on ‘Bigg Boss 20’, the Bollywood superstar has now raised concerns over the growing use of artificial intelligence to create fake videos and voice clips. Salman revealed that he has himself appeared in AI-generated content and called for legal action against people who knowingly create and circulate such material.
‘Even I am there in the AI video’
During the discussion, Salman linked online trolling to the kind of bullying and eve-teasing that once happened more openly in public spaces. According to him, social media has now become another platform where people can target others.
He said AI technology has advanced to a point where fake content can look and sound convincing.
“Someone made an AI video, or did AI voice dubbing; that is wrong. AI has progressed so much that it’s very scary. It’s a very serious thing,” Salman said.
Explaining how easily someone’s words can be manipulated, he added, “You said something, and someone used AI to edit it and kisi ko gali bakdi. You know what they’re doing? AI videos bana rahe hain yeh. Bahut saare logon ke… and even I am there in the AI video.”
Salman wants creators of fake videos punished
The actor also pointed to the difference between people who unknowingly share manipulated content and those who deliberately make it.
He said a person watching such a video may believe that the celebrity shown in it actually said or did what the clip suggests. But those who know that the material is AI-generated and still create it should face serious consequences
“Now, people who don’t know it is AI-generated content might post that Salman Khan was there. But those who know this reality and still created the video, what kind of people are they?” he said.
Salman went on to call for people responsible for deliberately creating such videos to be jailed.
“Now those kinds of people should be put behind bars. Jab tak koi ek aadh, do aisa andar jaayega nahi na, tab tak yeh rukne wala hai nahi,” he said.

“There has to be a law that needs to be passed, and there has to be censorship on social media,” he said.
