Legendary Hall of Famers were out in full force on Day 4 of The National. And they signed some unique and cool collectibles.

Paul Murray added an autograph from Andruw Jones to his 1989 Baseball Hall of Fame lithograph, numbered 225/250, but it is truly a one-of-a-kind collectible.

The poster-sized relic has been autographed by 120-plus members of the Baseball Hall of Fame, including Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Warren Spahn, and others.

Many added inscriptions by their name: Cal Ripken Jr., added “2,632 Consecutive Games”; Yogi Berra added his MVP seasons; Sandy Koufax included his Cy Young award-winning seasons and “MVP 63.”

Frank Robinson even highlighted his Triple Crown accolades.

Whitey Ford included Ed, his real first name.

Murray, a lifelong collector from the Chicagoland area, said picking out the story around one signature is impossible. “All stood out,” he said.

Nolan Ryan signed, as did Reggie Jackson, Tony Gwynn, Mike Schmidt, Al Kaline, Harmon Killebrew and so many others.

Murray still wants to added signatures of George Brett, Derek Jeter and Ken Griffey, Jr.

Murray’s collectible, encased in a flat cardboard box, features “anyone who’s anyone,” from the Hall of Fame, including umpires such as Al Barlick, he said.

Murray’s collectible also features many past card show flyers, where he scored autographs for his litho, such as, Chicagoland’s Annual Winter Sports Collectors Convention, held January 13-15, 1995, at a hotel in Mundelein, Ill., featuring appearances by Enos Slaughter and Stan Musial, among others.

Other highlights from the TRISTAR Autograph Pavilion:

    • Evander Holyfield graciously posed on stage for photos with many young collectors.

    • Terrell Suggs was asked to sign a full-size helmet in white ink, but only silver was available. After signing the helmet, he quipped: “That doesn’t look too bad … and I get to stand out.”

    • Dennis Rodman sported purple hair and a purple beard, and was wearing a spiked Mitchell & Ness Chicago Bulls baseball hat.

While signing a retro Detroit Pistons card for a teenage boy, Rodman was asked his favorite nail paint color. He answered: Blue.

    • Jaromir Jagr signed a replica Stanley Cup on Saturday.

The elderly lady who got his autograph left the area in a wheelchair with the signed souvenir held with both hands as if she were going to hoist it over her head.

    • Sammy Sosa signed 13 tickets from his career for a father-daughter duo, each with an inscription from a career milestone for the slugging sensation, such as, “LAST CUBS GAME, 1st CUBS HR, and HR #563 TIES REGGIE.”

Sosa then posed for a photo with the daughter.

    • Former Duke and NBA star Christian Laettner signed a 1992 USA Dream Team poster.

Laettner was asked about the latest former Duke stars to make it to the NBA—Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg and No. 4 pick Kon Knueppel, who also had a strong rookie year.

“I love it. They’re great,” he said. “And Kon’s little brother is coming too, so that’s going to be great.”

    • Longtime collector Steve Lane, who owns one of the largest Mickey Mantle collections in the hobby, wrote a book about his collection.

He has gotten several former Yankee greats to sign a copy of the book. On Saturday, he added the autograph of another Yankee great and Hall of Fame slugger
